Creative influence and tradition are big topics with any number of possible angles, but one for this html page is, "the teachers list." I had the flu in 1996 and saw the "around the world" video on mtv in bed and it definitely wasn't a dream - a year or so later I ordered the record from cdnow.com or musicblvd.com. What was this music?! Luckily there was an answer mapped out on track 9.

Over time, my supercuts-oriented brain became aware of this as something of a form. This mix is both a selected compilation of tracks I'm aware of that do shoutouts and an opportunity to do one possible version of my own. Nothing comes from nowhere or stands alone; this is why a links page is important.
